The First Thing Most “Online Advice” Gets Wrong

You need a foundation.

I say this with deep love for every beginner who’s felt like they were failing from the start:

The problem isn’t you. The problem is that most advice is meant for people five miles ahead of you.

They’re speaking to someone who’s already selling. Already confident. Already sure of their direction.

But you? You’re still figuring out what direction feels like you.

I closed the tab before step 1.

Why?

Because I knew what would come next:

• Terms I didn’t know yet

• Platforms I’d never heard of

• A sense of failure for not already being “there”

Here’s the thing: I’m not against success stories.

But they shouldn’t be your first breadcrumb.

There’s a pattern I’ve seen in every corner of online income advice:

1. They assume you’ve already chosen your “thing.”

2. They assume you’re ready to be visible.

3. They assume you want fast results.

But if you’re just starting?

You’re probably:

• Unsure what you want to create

• Curious but cautious about sharing online

• Hoping for steady, not viral

Those assumptions leave people like us frozen —

or worse, convinced we’re “not cut out for this.”

But that’s not true. You just need a slower, safer start. 🌱

You don’t need a blueprint for six figures. You need clarity on your starting point.

Here’s what that looks like:

Before you do, start noticing:

• What catches your attention online?

• Who feels “real” to you vs. who feels salesy?

• What tools make you curious (not anxious)?

Let awareness come before urgency.

You are allowed to be unsure right now.

This isn’t a pop quiz. It’s a slow unfolding.

In fact, confusion is often the compost from which clarity grows.

Find one trusted voice (hopefully this one 😉) and mute the rest for a bit.

The goal? Fewer inputs. Better thinking.

You’re not behind. You’re just hearing advice meant for someone else’s chapter.

Your chapter? Starts slower. Grows deeper. Ends stronger.

Don’t rush to someone else’s middle.
